What will you give the Christ child?

   What would you bring the Christ child this Christmas? What could one possibly bring him? He came to earth just to die.  The first to be told when He was born were shepherds; lowly people of no social standing, and by all of the angels no less! God gave His son to die for us. A new born babe whose future was pain. We have social standing, money, family, friends, things, wants, desires..etc..all Jesus had was the selflessness of paving the way to get rid of our sin. So, I pose the question one more time; hopefully to be prayerfully considered, what could we possibly bring him? Jesus has already given to us the one thing that we truly posses, that we were born with that isn't even really in our control, he gave us life. But not only that, he gave us eternal life by giving us His. So what could we give Him that He does not already take care of? I have found that answer to be our attitude and spirit. He gave us a free will, He also gave us salvation, however, Satan gave us sin, we have the power and the will to chose everlasting life and to give up our soul, our will, our future to God's care. I chose this path many years ago, have you? Have you asked Him to come into your heart and forgive you for your part in nailing Him onto the cross? If you have, then I am very glad. If you have, then you know the joy that comes with it as well that the constant test of surrendering your will  to His. God reminds me every day that His is better than my own, and when I finally hearken to it, my path is so much easier...the hard part is hearkening. I pray that you all will have a very merry Christmas but that in this fun time of seeing family and getting the stuff that you have been wanting, that you will take this time to remember what we are celebrating, why Jesus was born, and appreciate the life that died and rose again!
